Introduction

I wouldn't say that I am a huge movie buff, but I do try to watch the top rated movies that are released, whether through critic reviews or word of mouth by friends and the internet. Under much scrutiny from my fellow friends, one particular movie I had not seen for the longest time was The Godfather. Boy was I in for a surprise; I truly enjoyed the movie, and totally immersed myself into their era. Tommy gun-toting with their fedora tipped slightly at an angle, Francis Ford Coppola immediately got my undivided attention with the environment of the 1940s, as well as the mannerisms each character portrayed. Getting the detail just right, lets the viewer escape from their own world for the next few hours and immerse themselves in Coppola's vision of modern day criminal syndicates. After seeing the first Godfather movie, I decided to finish off the trilogy. Let us pretend that the trilogy never happened, and that the film ended on the sequel. On that note, Robert De Niro's performance as a young Vito Corleone was fantastic, and I truly enjoyed watching how Vito Corleone came about in the criminal underworld. He's painted as an honest man, who's word is his bond.
